Jason
Garcia, with the City of Robstown take over as the 2011-2012 TACA
President. Jason has been actively involved
on the TACA Board for the past 8 years. He is
very excited and dedicated to serving the TACA
members this year.
As we enter the new
year of 2012 the TACA officers, board
members, regional advisors and staff will be meeting
to plan the 2012 TACA year on
January 14th.

TACA To Take
Over
ACCI Training |
During a TACA board meeting at the annual training
conference,
the
Association of Certified Cruelty Investigators
(ACCI) asked
TACA to take over its training
for the state of Texas. ACCI is a
501-(c)
(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the training
of
professional humane/cruelty
investigators employed in Texas,
Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.The primary purpose
of ACCI
is to educate law enforcement,
animal care professionals, and other
interested agencies and individuals in all aspects
of animal cruelty investigations.

Changes In 2012
With
Submissions of Continued
Education To TACA |
TACA will be making changes in regards to accepting
submissions of continued education classes attended
and presented to TACA for
recording.
Starting in 2012 ALL
certificates sent to TACA for
continued education recording MUST have on them that
the class
was
DSHS
approved
and number of hours approved for.
TACA will not contact
those
that submit records that do not have the required
information on the
certificates they will be discarded as invalid
submissions.
ALL TACA issued
certificates for class hosted by TACA
including euthanasia and ACCI
training classes will be imprinted
with the TACA seal for
authenticity that the certificate was
issued by TACA and preventing any fraudulent
altering
of a TACA issued certificate.
Additionally the official letter verifying
continued education hours that
was jointly agreed upon with
TACA and DSHS will no longer
be e-mailed, you can request the
letter in an e-mail but it
will only be mailed by USPS.
When mailed this letter will
also be imprinted with the TACA
seal for authenticity.

TACA Welcomes
New Board
Members and Regional Coordinators To The
2012 Year |
TACA welcomes 5 new board
members to the TACA board this year. Nora Cortino,
with the City of Houston, Karen Hoffman, with the
City Of Pasadena, Edna Stambaugh with the City of
Cedar Hill, and Carlos Gonzales with the City of
Port Isabel and Sammy Garza with the City Of League
City.
Regional Coordinators recommended by the president
to the board for approval are; Rhonda McClendon with
the City of Lufkin for DSHS regions 4/5 and 6, Fred
Sanderson with the City of Irving for DSHS regions
2/3 and 7, Aaron Vannoy with the City of Abilene for
DSHS regions 1, 9, and 10, and David Travis with the
City of South Padre Island regions DSHS regions 8
and 11.

TACA
will be holding its 38th
Annual Conference
at the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake, located
in Nassau
Bay, Texas.
The conference dates are
November 12th – 14th.
The room rates are $90.00
for single and double.
For those that would like to stay an extra
day before
or after the conference the hotel is located on
Clear Lake.
There is park that
you can fish at about 2 minutes away from the hotel.
It is located across the
street from the Johnson Space Center and Space
Center Houston.
You are
minutes away from the Kemah Boardwalk, which has
restaurants, rides and carnival style games,
and about 30 minutes away from Galveston and
Downtown
Houston.
